Lyrics

'Happy Dayz' is the first single to be released from the upcoming album 'Happy Days'. The singles 'Used to be fun' (16 Feb) and 'Lie down' (29 March) will follow ahead of the album release on 10 May 2024.

'Happy Dayz' is a gentle, slow burning indie track that starts off with melancholy vibes and depressing lyrics but changes into an uplifting chorus. Though the song title is sarcastic, it does not just want to draw a bleak picture of the current state of the world but declares with unwavering optimism that we are nonetheless allowed to find distractions and happiness.

'Happy Dayz' was written out of that feeling of guilt some of us might feel when thinking about global warming, inequality, warm, hunger etc. and the fact that we're not doing much or anything about it. Probably because our own little lives are challenging enough or because we don't believe we can change anything anyway.

All water that you drink
Making you ill
All the food you can buy
Poisonous too

But life is good and
And pharma does

Care all about us
And there are pills

A lot of pills
They make you better
A while

Oceans die
Species too
You’re feeling blue
Draught and heat
And our meet
Pumped full of drugs

Before you feel
Bad or worse
You go on youtube
There’s funny stuff
A lot of it
You’re feeling better
Right now

Right now I feel so great and whole
I love life with heart and soul
Happy days are here
Let’s enjoy a beer

Now I feel so great and whole
I love life with heart and soul
Happy days are here
Let’s enjoy a beer

Oceans rise
Cultures sink
Making you think
But thinking hurts
so take a break
Let’s eat a cake

Right now I feel so great and whole
I love life with heart and soul
Happy days are here
Let’s enjoy a beer

Now I feel so great and whole
I love life with heart and soul
Happy days are here
Let’s enjoy a beer

Band Intro

Seasonal Falls is the new recording project of Switzerland-based songwriter Roman Gabriel (The Kind Hills, The Dentals), joined by Andrew Pelletier (Fur Trader) who provides vocals and production. The tracks range between indie-pop, indie-folk and indie-rock and capture the band's passion for quirky indie music in general and of the 90s in particular. Growing up with artists like Elliott Smith, Pavement, Wilco, Teenage Fanclub etc. has heavily influenced the sound, vocals and melodies of Seasonal Falls.

The home studio recorded songs are largely acoustic, delicate and catchy. Below the surface however, there are various antithetical qualities as the music is melancholy yet uplifting, silly yet sincere, and simple yet intriguing.

The band’s first single ‘Reach for nearby’ (which isn’t on the album) was released on November 17 and has received some positive feedback from various international blogs, drawing comparisons with artists like Elliott Smith, Andy Shauf and Sufjan Stevens.

[Seasonal Falls] make beautiful folk. With their songs and music they can let time stand still for a short while. www.welovethat.de

Feels kind of like something Elliott Smith adjacent; it has that natural personality to it, that soft-spoken charm that makes your entire day. https://austintownhall.com/

There is something wonderfully appealing to be found in this debut release... Something that goes against the grain of the modern world, something considered and sensible, understated and honest. https://bigtakeover.com/
